Cambridge Technical Diploma in Business Level 3
Examination Board: OCR
This new and exciting vocational course is for students who are 16 and over. They’re designed to develop knowledge and skills, and will prepare you for university, work or even an apprenticeship. Cambridge Nationals are designed to allow students the freedom to explore more deeply the things that interest them. Therefore, the teaching of the qualification will normally be through practical work, group activities, learning skills such as presentation, debate, and report writing and other things that may be relevant to the world of work. This course is not just about results, it’s about educating people in the knowledge and skills required for employment and for the community as a whole. It’s also about developing the behaviours and attributes needed to progress and succeed in education and in work.
Where does it lead?
Business is a versatile subject that can not only lead to a career in the Business world, financial services or the banking industry. It can further lead towards a career in marketing and even education.
The Cambridge Technical is a vocational course with an exam element in it. There are four units that are assessed through the completion of a timed exam which is marked externally and six units for which an assignment needs to be produced. These are marked internally and moderated by the exam board.
This qualification will cover the following units:
· The business environment
· Working in business
· Business decisions
· Customers and communication
· Change management
· Principles of project management
· Delivering a business project
· Marketing and market research
· Marketing strategy
· Devising a Marketing campaign
The units are graded Pass, Merit and Distinction. As the qualification is equivalent to 2 A Levels, the final qualification is graded as PP, PM, MM, MD, DD, DD*, D*D*.
As this qualification is worth two A Levels, an additional A Level subject can be studied alongside it to complement it, which will provide you with a broad and balanced programme of learning.
