Media Studies

A-Level Media Studies (AQA)

Why Choose Media Studies?

Media Studies is about understanding the world you live in. From film and television to social media, advertising, music, and newspapers, media shapes how we see ourselves and others. This course helps you explore how meaning is created, how audiences respond, and how media industries operate.

You’ll learn to think critically about everything from Netflix series and Instagram influencers to political campaigns and news coverage. Along the way, you’ll develop analytical skills, creativity, and a strong understanding of how media messages are constructed and interpreted.

Media Studies pairs particularly well with subjects such as English, Sociology, Psychology, Business, and Art — all of which explore communication, culture, and society in different ways.

This is a subject for curious, creative minds: people who want to question, create, and analyse the media that surrounds them every day.
