Employers, Providers and Educational Establishments
Employers
We welcome contact from Employers regarding any opportunities that you have which you feel that our students may benefit from. We also have a number of events which are integrated into the school careers programme such as Careers Talks, Enterprise Days or Business Interview Days where we are keen to develop our list of contacts and invite employers to send representatives to speak with groups of students.
Historically we have worked with organisations like O2, British Airways, Mars, Aspire, The Army, Reading University, local colleges, National Apprenticeships, Lloyds TSB, NHS, Learning to Work, Future First, Inspiring the Future and the Police. They have either come into school to support sessions, welcomed students into their own places of work, or run inter-school competitions.
If you feel that you would like to work with us to expand students’ knowledge and understanding of your employment sector, then please contact Miss F. Shallow (FSH@slougheton.com). For events that you are holding we require a 6 weeks minimum lead time, and all requests will be considered on the basis of staffing availability to support the activity, clashes with other planned activities, trips or visits, interruption to preparation for examinations, or rooming and space availability to host the activity.
Providers
We work with a number of organisations to offer exciting opportunities in order to further knowledge, deepen learning and develop skills including Learning to Work, Thames Valley Learning Partnership (TVLP) and Adviza.
We welcome contact from other Providers who may have new opportunities for our students. If you feel that you would like to work with us then please contact Miss F. Shallow (FSH@slougheton.com). For events that you are holding we require a 6 weeks minimum lead time, and all requests will be considered on the basis of staffing availability to support the activity, clashes with other planned activities, trips or visits, interruption to preparation for examinations or rooming and space availability to host the activity.
Educational Establishments
Under the Baker Clause, we welcome requests for provider access for Y7 to Y13 students to promote a variety of educational routes and training opportunities. Please see our CEIAG Policy and our Provider Access Policy for further details.
