Geography Department. The study of geography looks at the interactions between the human and the physical world and helps to prepare pupils for roles as global citizens. It explains how landscapes were formed and how humans impact and interact with these landscapes. We aim to build on pupils own experiences at all scales from personal to the global.
Homework
At KS3 pupils get one homework task a week. At KS4 coursework covers a large proportion of the homework along with past exam questions giving them opportunity to practice exam technique..

History Department. History is very popular at Slough and Eton. Teaching styles are varied, using active learning, role-play writing frames, discussion, group and individual work. Film evidence is used extensively and source analysis skills are developed to a very high level.

History can lead to jobs in the services, banking and finance, law and business. History enables students to present factual information in a logical format and to analyse written text intelligently. Employers prize these skills.
Religious Education. As a Church of England School Religious Education is central to the life of the School. Spirituality is a key concern at Slough and Eton and all pupils are encouraged to reflect on their own spiritual understanding and development throughout a variety of classroom activities.

Teaching strategies include drama, art, gardening and meditation. The Department is very aware of the role of the local community in the development of a pupil's religious development and utilises nearby places of worship and speakers from faith communities.
