Sixth Form Mural Project

MURAL IN CHALVEY

The sixth form Art students have recently returned to the Mural Project that they started designing in the Autumn term, with artist Spencer Lowe. Over the past 3 weeks they have spray painted the coloured panels as a background (no mean feat when the wall size is 55 metres long by 2 metres high!) and then they have started adding the images they have been working on, such as bottles, leaves, footprints, and many other images that link with the theme of recycling, cycling and biodiversity. The mural is being painted on the wall that backs onto the Chalvey Waste and Recycling plant and that runs along the pathway from Chalvey to the Jubilee River. The sixth form Art students have worked really hard despite having been hampered by the recent unpredictable weather and we are all really looking
forward to seeing the finished mural, which looks like being very impressive indeed!
