Year 8 visited the Sutton Life Centre in South London as part of their personal, social, health, citizenship education curriculum on the 4th and 18thof March. They attended presentations on some of the most important social and moral issues facing young people today. They embarked on virtual experiences encompassing the street, the home, transport and other virtual tours tolearn about issues such as smoking, gangs, knife crime, bullying, domestic violence, internet, fire safety, rainforest deforestation, derelict buildings, climate change, recycling, using trains and buses safely and the impact of anti-social behaviour including littering and graffiti.
Pupils thoroughly enjoyed every part of this tour. The staff at the centre was very impressed with year 8’s behaviour and questioning during Q and A sessions. Staff complemented the pupils by saying they are a credit to the school.
