Karting 2010
Slough & Eton have entered the British Schools Karting Championship again this year and with the help of school funding and a Sport England bursary we have 4 teams of 3 drivers ready to race.
To ensure the fastest racers represent the school a 2 nights of trials were held at F1 Karting, Colnbrook. 25 pupils took on the challenge and the teams are as follows.
Team A Hasseb Salim, Usama Ahmed and Ilyas Ahmed
Team B Bernard Golinski, Ghulam Fareed and Naveed Aktar
Team C Irfan Khalid, Umar Dad and Zain Mir
Team D Chaudry Nawaz, Sultan Bhatti and Sahd Raja
On Wednesday 3rd February the Year 10 & 11 go-karting team took part in the British Schools Karting Championship pre-qualifying practice round. There were some excellent drivers on display and a few of our boys made amazing progress from their first tentative laps to daring overtaking manoeuvres in the space of a few minutes on the track.
On Wednesday 3rd March the 4 teams will race for a place in the regional finals at Sandown Park. How many of our boys will qualify?
More details and results to follow.
Good Luck Boys!

Team B found the much faster karts, better opponents and more challenging track too much to cope with and finished 18th (of 18) overall. Team A, veterans of the same competition last year, finished a very respectable 8th.
Great fun was had by all and Slough & Eton will be back in 2011 stronger than ever.
