Slough & Eton C of E B and E College are proud to have recently started to run the Sports Leaders UK Community Sports Leadership Award (CSLA) with our pupils in year 12.

The qualification and award are practical; candidates learn by doing rather than through written work. And, we don’t do exams – assessment is made upon a candidate’s ability to lead and demonstrate their leadership skills for a certain period of time, within a specific setting. 

Sports Leaders UK provides nationally recognised leadership qualifications and awards through the media of sport, dance, basic expedition, language, maths and literacy that help people, whatever their age or background develop essential life skills such as organising, motivating, communicating and working with others. 

• A fun and practical qualification that focuses on leading rather than technical ability.
• Potential stepping stone into employment, further education or training.
• A good foundation for other Sports Leaders UK qualifications, a National Governing Body award.
• Develops generic leadership skills that will be vital in other areas of life.

Next year the sixth formers who complete their CSLA award will embark on the Higher Sports Leaders Award (level 3) and when they complete it they will receive 30 UCAS points to help them achieve their goal of Higher Education and maybe university.
