ICT is an integral part of everyday life for every pupil and member of staff at Slough & Eton C of E Business and Enterprise College. We believe that developing and acquiring ICT skills and capabilities is very important and therefore ICT is offered as a discrete subject across all year groups.

Pupils at all levels benefit from being taught by qualified ICT specialist teachers. The school has heavily invested in specialist staff, computer hardware and software applications over the past two years. We have over 150 networked PCs in three main ICT suites, a technology laboratory and the library. In addition to this both pupils and members of staff have access to networked laptops. Furthermore every teacher has a PC in their teaching room and many teaching rooms have interactive white boards.

Department Mission

Our mission is to ensure that we:
Develop, maintain and stimulate pupils' curiosity, interest and enjoyment in ICT
Foster the development of appropriate ICT skills, concepts, principles, methods and vocabulary
Provide pupils with opportunities to progress to high levels of ICT capability
Provide pupils with equal access to ICT
Encourage pupils to develop informed opinions about the applications and effects of ICT and to be able to support their opinions with reasonable arguments
Support all staff in their need to develop confidence and strategies in using ICT within their teaching
Encourage all staff to be alert to the dangers of various forms of computer misuse
Foster in pupils an understanding of the harmful effects and the illegality of all forms of computer misuse
