The study of geography looks at the interactions between the human and the physical world and helps to prepare pupils for roles as global citizens. It explains how landscapes were formed and how humans impact and interact with these landscapes. We aim to build on pupils own experiences at all scales from personal to the global.
Geography Year 8 ZooLab Visit to School
In March while studying ecosystems year 8 had a visit from Walter from ZooLab who brought in many exotic animals from the rainforest to talk about the effects that rainforest destruction was having on them and why they are valuable to us. We learnt that snail slime is used in moisturiser, skinks and snakes are under threat as their skin is used for handbags, shoes and belts among other things.

Student Achievements
The percentage of 5 A*- C has risen the last 2 years running, with
2 pupils gaining A* grades in 2007, and an overall 50% A*-C in 2009.
This is encouraging the current geography pupils to aim higher.
